china airlines, tpe to sfo

It's very hard to leave this place. At the hotel there was a lot of "let me take you picture!" and "zai-chien! have safe journey!" and the whole lot were more cheerful and friendly than a bunch of Brits having tea and biscuits on a cricket lawn. And every person I saw on my way to the airport - the obliging taxi driver, the woman at the info kiosk who handed me tissues when I snuffled, the two store clerks who dug furiously through Duty Free stock to find a plastic ball with a weird bug - every one of them reminds me of how innocent and open this place is.

The flight is boarding, must go.

Zai-chien!

  1. I agree! I haven't been to Taipei (sp?) but I have been to Beijing twice and LOVED the people. I can't wait to go back in November. :)
Glad you had such a great experience. How did you climb?

  2. Not well, but seeing Taipei was life-changing. Next time.

  3. Great attitude!

My husband felt that same when the first time he went to Mexico and Equador. Very life changing. :)
