Sefr (One)
I sit here now in a 3 bedroom house. The room is heated, the lights are partly on, and several cats sleep peacefully on chair pillows. The kitchen holds food, the faucets unleashes heated water, and no one living here has a paid job. The house is surrounded by acres of trees and grass that hide a pond where ducks squawk happily.
Within the walls of this very room, the room I am in at this very moment, there are textbooks men would die for, if only to educated their daughters and sons in chemistry, so that one day they may leave the over-populated and polluted hell hole in which they have lived and may one day move to America, the rumored country of riches and freedom. My hands rest heavily on a laptop that any man in Jordan would have to pay a year's wages to possess. My fingers peck at the very keys that can take me to a shining web, a vast, inexhaustable, infinite dwelling of information connecting billions of people, a timeless portal of which can tell you all you want to know. It is because we have all this, that we see it everyday, that we do not realize how fucking amazing it is.
Today...the dull life of school. So many children, so many clueless, clueless children...I have heard, from the rambling man on the radio, of how the children in America do not want to learn. They want luxury, iPods, PSPs, video games. And in southern Africa, what do they reaply earnestly when you ask them what they want? To learn. To be educated and sophisticated, to understand the things around them and how to better understand their own intelligence, to master the great arts and see for themselves the wonder of technology and wisdom.
Why has our own country lost this motivation?
Have you lost this motivation? If you live in the US, it is likely.
We have what we need to be a super-intelligent race.
We know how to be healthier and stronger...
We have centuries of history...
Books apon books of theory and revolutions...
Darwinism is quickly tumbling out the fifth story window.
